Sam Redmore is now very much making himself known as an original producer of quality global grooves that can light up any dancefloor.
After early support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Nightmares On Wax, Jazzy Jeff, Lauren Laverne, Danny Krivit and Craig Charles, Sam built a name for crafting soul-drenched remixes of the classics with his army of fans eagerly awaiting every new re-work.
Having signed to Jalapeno Records for his debut album, Sam has kept the eclectic tastes of all his fans satisfied with four very different singles showcasing the wide range of styles he is known for - all picking up rave reviews and a very wide spread of radio support including Radio 1 / 6 Music / Radio 2 / Jazz FM / Worldwide FM in the UK as well as hitting Number 1 most added on US college radio charts (world).
The producer fashioned a serious curveball in the shape of his genius cumbia cover of Giorgio Moroder’s Tears, Sam now asks Scrimshire to step up to the plate for a remix. Recently lauded as one of the 3 main producers driving forward the new wave of soul music by The Observer in the UK, this remix shows why he has been talked about alongside such illustrious and high profile names as inflo.
Many people know the riff from the original Tears because of DJ Shadow’s Organ Donor track. Sam’s cumbia cover moved things far away from that version but Scrimshire steers the new version straight back into those waters with heavy hip hop drums underpinning that incredible riff..
